7. Sheet- Unless otherwise specified, the abrasive shall be furnished in 9 x 11 inch sheets.
Dimensional tolerance. Sheet size shall be accurate within plus or minus 1/8 inch in length and plus or minus 1/16 inch width.
Backing Weight. The paper plus saturant backing weight shall be within plus or minus 1S percent of the value shown in TABLE 1. The value shown in TABLE I is based on 2880 square feet after conditioning to reach a moisture equilibrium with an atmosphere of 50 plus or minus 2 percent relative humidity at 70 plus or minus 2 degrees F.
Breaking strength (coated product). The breaking strength values shown in Table I shall be determined in accordance with ASTM Method D828.
Identification marking. Coated abrasive sheets shall be marked in a legible manner with the manufacturer’s name or trademark, kind-of abrasive, grit size, waterproof designation, and backing weight or industry designation “A” for 48 pound “C” for 80 pound ).
Workmanship. Cracks, uneven distribution of grit, frayed edges, or other imperfections shall not be present to impair the serviceability of abrasive sheets. The workmanship shall be equal to better in every respect to that which is considered good practice by industry.
